Beef Rendang
1kg Beef Chuck cut into pieces
Fry these together in a pan for 3 minutes over medium heat:
a) 2 tablespoon Coriander powder mixed with 1 tablespoon Cumin powder and 5 tablespoon water to form a paste.
b) 3 tablespoon Not Just a Sambal
Add
1 tablespoon Lemongrass paste or bruise 2 talks of lemongrass
1 Turmeric Leaf, 1 Star Anise, 1 Cinnamon bark (optional)
Beef
Add water to cover the meat
1 can coconut cream
Bring to boil and then cook over low heat for 3 hours. Until meat is tender.
Add
5 tablespoon roasted coconut
3 tablespoon Sugar or grated Gula Melaka
1 tablespoon Tamarind paste
1 tablespoon salt
Adjust the sweet, salty and sour according to your preference, by adding onto the rendang if needed.
